Lew Hoad, a Club with history and a personality of its own
Some places keep their charm intact as the years go by. Lew Hoad is one of them.

Our origins
From Australian tennis to Mijas
Located in Mijas, in the heart of the Costa del Sol, the Club takes its name from Lew Hoad, one of the great figures of Australian tennis in the 1950s and 60s. A winner of several Grand Slam titles, including Wimbledon and the Australian Open, Hoad discovered this area on one of his family trips and was captivated by its climate, its landscape and its way of life.
He then decided to settle in Mijas and transform an old Andalusian farmhouse into a Tennis Club that, over the years, would become an emblematic place on the Costa del Sol.
A meeting place
More than a sports venue
From the very beginning, Lew Hoad was much more than a sports venue. Its gardens, its Andalusian architecture and its welcoming atmosphere made it a meeting point for figures from the worlds of sport, culture and international society.
Lady Di, Alfonso de Hohenlohe, Sean Connery and Frank Sinatra have all passed through its grounds, along with great names of tennis such as Tony Roche, Peter McNamara and Stan Smith.
Top-level tennis
A history tied to tennis that is still very much present today. In recent years, the Club has also been chosen as a training base by professional players on the ATP and WTA tours, including Alejandro Davidovich, Paula Badosa and Feliciano López, who have found in Lew Hoad a privileged setting to prepare for their competitions.

Since 2005
A renewal true to its essence
Since 2005, under new management, the Club has undergone a major renovation of its facilities and an expansion of its sports areas, always with the aim of preserving the character and essence that have accompanied it since its origins.
Today, Lew Hoad is still that special place where tennis, padel, gastronomy and the pleasure of spending time in a calm and charming setting come together.
A Club that has learned to evolve without losing what makes it different.

Lew & Jenny Hoad
Where the spirit and legacy of Lew and Jenny Hoad live on
Some places have a soul, and Lew Hoad is one of them.
Lew and Jenny made this place much more than a Club. With their passion for sport, their hospitality and their very special way of welcoming people, they created a unique atmosphere full of friendship, warmth and good times.
Today, their spirit lives on in every corner, in every gathering and in every person who is part of this great family.
Because what is truly special about a place is not only its history, but the emotions and memories it leaves in those who visit.
